Why adopt from Pawizona?

Adopting a dog with an unknown history can mean surprises. We remove them.

Our approach

Many adopters face the same challenge: the dog's history is unknown, which can lead to surprises with temperament or behavior. At Pawizona, every dog has lived in a real home, so we truly know their personality, habits and needs. We never want to see a dog return to a shelter.

That lets us give you detailed insight into each dog's temperament and match them to the right family. When you adopt from us, you're welcoming a well-understood, well-loved dog into your home.

A rescue dog at home in a foster family

How we prepare every dog

Our dogs are surrendered as puppies. We place them with foster families for eight months to a year or more to build good habits and work through any behavior issues before adoption. No dog is perfect but we remove many of the issues that could lead to a dog being placed in a rescue.

1

Early intervention

Starting young means we shape behavior early instead of fixing problems after they set in.

2

Foster-home training

Training happens in a real household: crate training, potty training and everyday house manners.

3

Honest handoff

We share what we've learned, including any special traits, and upfront about any issues or concerns we have noticed.

A calm, trained rescue dog

Basic training matters

A well-trained dog makes the whole family's experience better and helps build a strong bond from day one. Every Pawizona dog is equipped with the essentials:

  • Basic commands: sit, stay, come, speak
  • Potty training: crate training and potty on command
  • House training: good habits that keep your home clean
  • Advanced training: smarter dogs are exposed to more advanced skills
